Moving Day- June 13

Last Saturday we FINALLY moved to Baton Rouge. Thanks so much to everyone- we had SO much help with the kids, the cleaning, and the moving. You all rock!! We don't have too many pictures of the moving- we were busy!

Nonna watched Sara and Mick for us- I was worried about leaving Mick since he really hasn't been away from me all that much, but he was great!! He is such a good baby- I should have known he'd be fine!

We still have to find all our stuff to go on the walls. We don't have any pictures of our room- its become the catch-all and its a mess, but we're working on it!!

When Sara saw the vacuum, she announced that she was cleaning the house and then "vacuumed" every room. I wonder where she gets that??

She also cooked her new Mulan doll...

And mowed the grass...

Later that night, Amy, Jay, and Cullen came over and Sara read to Mick and Cullen.

Its a small world- Apparently Joe and Jay are old friends :)

I can't believe that its already time for us to move to Baton Rouge (although it also seems like we've been waiting for this since forever!) We are so excited to get unpacked and settle down a little bit :) Since we won't have the internet for a little while, I thought I better update the blog!!

Sara likes to push Mick in his swing- as you can see- he doesn't seem to enjoy it too much :)

She also likes to read to him- he likes that a little better!

Sara's new favorite thing is to be sprayed with the water hose!

On Tuesday, we put on her bathing suit before we got out the water hose

But, things digressed quickly!

Mick just hung out in the swing- he's such a good baby!

Hello little drooly boy!! Mick drools constantly- I don't think he's teething, but who knows? If he's not, he is REALLY going to drool a lot when he starts getting his teeth! And I think his hair is getting lighter!

So cute!!

This afternoon, we hung out with Amie, Paw-Paw, and Uncle Nathan. Paw-Paw and Uncle Nathan are going to visit Uncle Landry (his 21st birthday is on Monday- happy birthday Landry!!) in Iowa City tomorrow and then they are going to Omaha on Saturday to watch LSU play in the College World Series! Geaux Tigers!!!

Sara's new favorite song is "Take me out to the ball game..." She was really impressed that we all knew the words and insisted that we sing it multiple times- I am sure I will be singing it a lot tomorrow too!

Update

On Thursday morning we hung out a little:

Mick loves to look at the TV. Even when we try to move him away, he still finds the TV so he can look at it. He seems to enjoy sports- particularly baseball. Silly Boy.

Sara, of course, loves ice cream. She is going to be shocked when we get to our new house and she doesn't get ice cream every night!

Last weekend, Sara went to visit Aunt Diane, Uncle Wesley, and Hanna. She had so much fun! Here is her attempt at packing:

On Friday, we closed on our house!! Here is Mick celebrating by relaxing on the floor!

We spent the weekend working in the house. On Saturday morning we went to Wal-mart to pick up a few things, and Mike decided he would get Mick his first GI Joe. Too bad Wal-mart doesn't have them

Mick didn't seem to mind though!

Last weekend Mick started rolling onto his side and grabbing his toys. It took me a while to find the camera, so he dropped his toy, but here he is on his side.

Amie and Paw-Paw came to help too!

We picked Sara up on Sunday and as soon as we got home, she grabbed this little calculator that looks like a computer and pretended to send an e-mail. Wonder where she gets that???

Its June!!

Can you believe that its already June??? We're closing on our house on Friday!!! We are going to spend the next week cleaning and painting and then we'll officially move in on June 13th! YAY!

Here are some pictures from our week so far-

She loves her climber! Its also a great place for her to have some "alone time" :)

On Tuesday, we got the kids all ready and went to the pool. Apparently, Mick didn't think swimming was a good idea- a nap sounded better :)

But that didn't stop Sara from having fun :)

Although she did it last summer, Sara hasn't wanted to go down the slide at all this summer! But she met some "friends" and since they were doing it, Sara finally worked up the courage to go!

Today we had to go to Baton Rouge for Mick's 2 month check up (I know we're a little late, but we had to wait for our insurance to switch over). He is 13 pounds and 3 ounces and 24 inches long and he's as healthy as can be- YAY!

But, he also had to get his shots- not fun!! He's been a little fussy and sleepy since then (understandable!)

I found this picnic table on Craigslist- Sara loves it!

She also likes finding lizards!
